FÈT GEDE II (2024)

The portraits below were taken at Riva Nyri Précil FÈT GEDE— an event celebrating and honoring the Haitian Vodou Gede Family: Baron Samdi, Grann Brijit, to name a few. In Haitian Vodou, Gede refers to a family of spirits (Lwa) associated with death, the afterlife, fertility, and humor. These spirits are central to Vodou, as they embody the cycle of life and death and play a significant role in connecting the living with the dead.

For the event, I created a custom installation inspired by Gede.
